Head Golf Professional

Pottawattomie recently brought on a new Head Golf Professional and we couldn’t be more excited about what he brings to the table.

Cory Blanchard received his PGA Membership in 2013 but prior to that spent most of his early years as a caddy in the Boston area, and later as a member of the University of Tampa’s golf team (where he graduated Magna Cum Laude!). Cory has been associated with several impressive golf facilities, most recently the Country Club of Buffalo.

Cory is excited to be back in the Midwest (prior to working at the Country Club of Buffalo, he was Assistant Golf Pro at Sand Creek in Chesterton, IN) and looks forward to the opportunity to provide our Golf Members the opportunity to improve upon their game, offering private lessons on Pottawattomie’s indoor simulator in the winter months and on the golf course throughout the active season.

Assistant Golf Professional

Pottawattomie continues to improve upon our already highly regarded golf course. The recent addition of a 1^st Assistant Golf Professional will help enhance the Pottawattomie golf operation. PGA Apprentice, Austin Smith brings with him an abundance of experience obtained from multiple courses in New York and Florida.

Austin was a member of his college’s Golf team, PennWest University, graduating in 2020. Almost immediately, he began his quest to becoming a member of the PGA. Austin is currently in level two of the three-part PGA Apprentice program. He is excited to make his membership official in the near future, but in the meantime, he strives to continuously improve upon both his game and his teaching skills.

Austin’s past accomplishments on the course have earned him several accolades including qualification in the National PGA Assistants Championship and multiple Western New York PGA Section event wins. He is often acknowledged by his peers as a very knowledgeable golf instructor.

Austin is well versed in the Golf Genius software that we utilize for many of Pott’s golfing events and will help in facilitating most of our Club’s golf happenings. Austin is also available to book for private lessons throughout the season and on the indoor simulator during the winter months.
