Pottawattomie sits on approximately 150 acres of lush fairways, trees too numerous to count, challenging elevations, and pristine greens, all with the fabulous Trail Creek winding throughout. One must have their A Game to hit the fairways to have a shot to those greens in regulation.
Under the direction of Matt Wagoner, our Grounds Superintendent, the golf course is probably in the best shape that any member living can remember. Improvements made over the last few years have been numerous and included replacement of all sand in the bunkers, addition of black tees for seniors and gold tees for the soon to be seniors, installation of fountains in our ponds, strategic tree removal to enhance the growth of turf in critical areas, tree trimming, brush clearing along the charming Trail Creek, just to highlight the obvious. So, a big thanks goes out to Matt and his staff.
Coming soon is our new practice Short Game Chipping Area which should be ready for use in the spring of 2024. This exciting addition to our already fantastic course is going to be terrific. The Short Game Chipping Area will include an elevated small green and a bunker with both a fairway cut and rough-cut grass approaches for chipping.
